Twenty-eight years ago, in the kitchen of a small apartment in Oakland, California, Marc Allen and Shakti Gawain started a publishing firm known as Whatever Publishing to put out a few books and booklets they had written. It was a shoestring operation, started with very little capital. Total sales in 1977 were $800. Things are considerably different now. Building from the success of Gawain's Creative Visualization (6 million copies sold), and a name change along the way, New World Library and has become the premier independent publisher of body-mind-spirit books, audios and gift products.
In addition to Creative Visualization, New World Library's list is now filled with best-sellers including Eckhart Tolle's The Power of Now and Deepak Chopra's The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success.
Publishing an average of 40 titles a year while drawing material from their bestselling books and audios, New World Library launched a gift product line in 2003. This growing list features affirmation cards, meditation decks, journals and boxed kits.
