CIDESCO, a beauty therapy association, hosted its 63rd World Congress & Exhibition (Sandton, South Africa) last month. Focusing on education, the five-day annual event brought more than 300 industry professionals. Hosted by the National CIDESCO Section South Africa and the South African Association of Health and Skincare Professional, the conference, themed ‘Skin is Alive,’ taught members the importance of education excellence in the industry, training procedures, and the latest trends and procedures in skincare. Key speakers included Ridwan Mia of Harvesting Skin and podiatrist Dennis Reebok. “South Africa’s section president Tina Scholtz together with honorary president Helene Weber-Bramwell gave us a week of unforgettable events, new ideas, and experiences, which emphasized the importance of education ongoing,” says Anna-Cari Gund, CIDESCO president. “South Africa is a country of ongoing research in the beauty and spa therapy industry and is one of the leaders in this field and this certainly showed in the caliber of speakers and representatives.” The next World Congress & Exhibition is set to take place in Dublin, Ireland in September 2016.
