Allergan announced this week that it’s CoolTone device received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to strengthen, tone, and firm the abdominal, buttocks, and thighs.
By using magnetic muscle stimulation (MMS), the device penetrates into the muscle layers to induce involuntary muscle contractions. The body responds by strengthening its muscle fibers, which improves muscle conditioning and results in a more defined and toned appearance of the abdomen, buttocks, or thighs.

CoolTone now joins Allergan’s CoolSculpting, a non-surgical treatment that targets unwanted fat cells in the body by freezing them. Millions of CoolSculpting treatments have been performed in more than 80 countries, and Allergen is now taking orders for the CoolTone device with the first units to be shipped early in the fourth quarter of this year.
