Here are Spas of America's Top 100 Spas of 2018

Americans are continuing to prove their love affairs with spas in a new list of Top 100 Spas, presented by Spas of America. According to the annual list, 73 of the top 100 spas of 2018 are located in the United States, 14 of which are based in California, a regional-leader in the spa and wellness industries. New Life Hiking Spa (Killington, VT) was named the number one spa of 2018, sealing in the spa’s fifth year at the top of the list.

Canada came in second place for the most number of spas included on the list, earning 17 spots on the chart. Four spas from Mexico made the cut as well, while one spa each from Bahamas, Brazil, and Costa Rica were included, too.

“In 2018, we continued to see growth in the North American spa and wellness industry, with increased visits and revenue,” says Craig Oliver, president of Spas of America. “Spa and wellness consumers in the United States, Canada, and Mexico understand wellness benefits their lives—by reducing stress, promoting relaxation, and increasing wellbeing. Whether guests are traveling alone or in a group, spa and wellness travel offers people a chance to focus on what is most important—their own health and wellbeing.”

According to locations, city spas proved to be most popular in 2018 with 20 spas on the list offering accessible health and wellbeing options located in urban areas. Health spas that focused on fitness and weight loss were the second most popular spa experience of the year, landing 19 spas on the countdown. Country spas followed with 11 spots, with beach and ocean spas following close behind with nine locations on the list. Mountain spas had eight; mineral hot springs, lakeside spas, and casino spas each had six; followed by wine spas at five; and one desert spa.
