Island Spa Catalina Unveils New Programming for 2016

Island Spa Catalina The Santa Catalina Island Company has updated the menu at Island Spa Catalina (Avalon, CA) with new spa treatments and Fitness on Demand. “We have been thrilled with the positive response to the opening of Island Spa Catalina and want to continue providing trendsetting experiences to our guests and the community,” says CEO Randall Herrel, Sr. “These enhancements demonstrate our dedication to personal wellness and wellbeing, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to raise the bar even higher at Island Spa Catalina.”

Led by spa director Zach Thomas, Island Spa Catalina now offers seasonal treatments, including the Red Carpet Ready Facial ($205, 80 minutes), which incorporates the restorative powers of epidermal growth factors along with diamond and gold collagen masks to smooth, tighten, and tone the facial contours. The spa has also launched It’s What She Wants! ($225, 80 minutes) involving a sea oxygen de-age facial and blowout service and Because You Deserve It! ($290, 80 minutes), which integrates a variety of classic massage techniques and a custom-blended facial. In March, the spa will be relaunching the Citrus with a Twist body treatment ($140, 50 minutes; $205, 80 minutes) with a new vendor, Jindilli, making it a “no water required” treatment.

Also new this year is Fitness on Demand, which provides countless virtual fitness options through a sleek, touch-screen kiosk. Virtual classes include kickboxing, ab workouts, Pilates, and cardio and are all taught by premier instructors. At Island Spa Catalina, classes will be offered through a prearranged schedule or for individual and group use. The classes and use of Fitness on Demand will be included with an overnight stay at the Pavilion Hotel or the Inn on Mt. Ada, but the fitness program will also be available to the public. “Fitness on Demand is the perfect addition to the Wellness Studio at Island Spa Catalina as we expand our health and wellness offerings for 2016,” says Maureen Fletcher Bankson, executive vice president of spa development and operations for American Leisure, which operates the spa. “This adaptable program allows us to provide our guests with unparalleled access to group fitness while visiting Catalina Island, making the perfect supplement to our already popular instructor-led classes.”
