As the editor in charge of American Spa's bi-monthly Medical Spa Report, I come across a lot of info on a daily basis on topics ranging from cosmetic surgery to non-invasive procedures to injectables. Because of this, I don't really get shocked by all the options out there to help people alter their appearances to look younger, thinner, prettier, etc. But today, while reading a study conducted by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, I was intrigued to learn that chin augmentation is the fastest growing cosmetic procedure in the U.S. In fact, this procedure, known as "chinplants," had grown by 71 percent in 2011, which is more than the increase in Botox, liposuction, and breast implants combined. Who knew?
Tell us, have you noticed an increase in patients wanting a chin augmentation at your medical spa? What other trends have you noticed?
