Rancho La Puerta (Tecate, Mexico), a premier global destination spa for more than 75 years, will debut three new Villas Cielo, or ‘Heavenly Villas,’ next month. These soon-to-be-unveiled accommodations are designed with wellness and relaxation in mind and will offer guests spacious privacy and top-notch services while also providing the traditional Ranch experience of fitness, culinary, and spa throughout their stay. Designed by Nicole Petersen of Petersen Design Management, the Villas Cielo capture the spirit of Mexico through their artisan décor and distinctive collection of Mexican-inspired art and custom furniture such as Yucatan hammocks, chaquira sculptures, and hand-blown painted glass. Each private sanctuary is also decorated according to a specific color and mood. Cielo Azul (blue) represents water, calmness, and stillness; Cielo Verde (green) represents nature and life; and Cielo Terra is designed in shades of warm terracotta. “The Villas Cielo are a natural expansion of The Ranch,” says CEO and general manager Roberto Arjona. “They embody our philosophy of nourishing the mind, body, and spirit, and they fulfill our guests’ requests for casitas with more privacy and personalization.”
Each 2,200-square-foot villa includes a spacious master suite, which overlooks a living room that can be transformed into a gym or business office, and sleeps up to two guests. The indoor/outdoor design is also a centerpiece with glass doors overlooking lush gardens and private patios with mountain views, solar-powered plunge pools, outdoor showers, and more. Each villa also provides private spa services for its guests, either in-room or on the private terraces. On Fridays, guests are treated to an in-room custom 90-minute restorative spa treatment, Un Pedacito de Cielo (A Little Piece of Heaven), which is a head-to-toe treatment that combines massage and Reiki to reinvigorate muscles, restore energy, and harmonize imbalances.
