Solage Calistoga Celebrates Earth Day with Month of Eco-Activities

Further expanding its commitment to environmental responsibility, Solage Calistoga embraces Earth Day with an entire month of activities and services designed with sustainability in mind. Reflecting a philosophy of eco-consciousness that focuses on environmental stewardship as well as personal health and wellbeing, the Michelin-star rated Solbar and award-winning Spa Solage will offer programs showcasing the thoughtful balance of the resorts eco-friendly luxury experience. A portion of the proceeds from Earth Month programming will be donated to the Napa Valley Vine Trail, a nature-friendly walking and biking trail currently under construction that will stretch the length of Napa Valley, from the Vallejo Ferry to Calistoga.

Environmental accountability is a key component of our daily mission and Earth Month at Solage gives us an opportunity to highlight exciting new offerings that take our initiatives to the next level, says Richard Hill, general manager of Solage Calistoga. Here at the resort, we believe you dont have to sacrifice a luxury experience, amazing spa services or delicious food to be earth-friendly.

On Earth Day, April 22, Executive Chef Brandon Sharp will unveil a Mother Earths Family Supper menu at Solbar consisting of six earth-friendly dishes served family-style at $45/per person. Dishes such as fava bean bruschetta with pork belly vinaigrette and pepperonata, and seared Pacific halibut with sugar snap peas and mustard beurre blanc feature local and organic farms that partner with the Solbar kitchen year round. Complimenting the meal is a selection of organic and biodynamic wines from Venge Vineyards, Stony Hill Vineyards and Maysara Estate.

Solbars playful cocktail menu will also celebrate throughout the month with a limited edition cocktail, Terra Nostra, featuring house-made vin dorange and tincture of Solage-grown lavender. The Terra Nostra, meaning Our Earth exemplifies the lounges commitment to sourcing local ingredients for its hand crafted artisan beverage program, including those gleaned from its own backyard.

Spa Solage, renowned for its environmentally conscious footprint and signature treatments inspired by nature, introduces for the month of April an Organic Antioxidant Grape Seed Scrub and Massage (80 minutes, $185) and Best of Solage Organic Facial (80 minutes, $195). Grape seeds for the scrub originate from Napa Valley vines and the facial incorporates products from the Eminence and Marie Veronique lines, coveted for their natural ingredients. Making innovative use of Calistogas famed hot springs as an alternative energy source, Solage taps the geothermal springs deep beneath the property for radiant energy to heat treatment rooms and soaking pools where guests may start and end their treatments at the 20,000-square-foot spa.

In addition, Solage will invite Solbar, Spa Solage and hotel guests to contribute to the Napa Valley Vine Trail Coalition, a local grass roots nonprofit with a vision to build a walking and biking trail system connecting the entire Napa Valley, by adding a donation to their check beginning April 1 through the remainder of the year.
