Spa Industry Unites for Fundraising Triathlon

Members from all walks of the spa industry are joining forces to participate in the Subaru Ironman 70.3 Victoria, which takes place June 4 in Victoria, Canada. As part of the Spas Pushing Limits group, participants are either joining forces as relay teams or competing as individuals in this event that involves a 1,900-meter swim, a 90-kilometer bike ride, and a 21.1-kilometer run. The group is raising money for the Éminence Kids Foundation. Among this year’s contestants are Monica Helmstetter, Spatec’s event director; David Erlich, director of spa and retail operations at Spa of the Rockies at Glenwood Hot Springs (CO); Helen Brown, executive director at Spa Solage at Solage Calistoga (CA); Bill Toth, area director of Mandara Spas; Epicuren Discovery’s Jessica Santora; Nicole Kerchmar from Yon-ka Paris; Breanne DesLauriers, Jarrod Muenter, Katy Muenter, and Gordon Turnbull from Éminence Organic Skin Care; Phil Sconzert from Fitness on Demand; and Danny Chang, Michael Matthews, and Scott Michaelis from Live Love Spa. American Spa’s editor-in-chief and publisher Julie Keller Callaghan will also be on-hand reporting live. Post-race, the group will be heading to Vancouver for a tour of the city and a visit to Éminence’s headquarters.
