Spirited Specials

We were overwhelmed by the enthusiastic responses about holiday promotions we received from so many spa directors around the country that we couldn't fit them all in our October issue. Here are more ingenious ideas to boost sales and make clients feel extra special and cared for during the holidays.

"To say ‘Thanks’ to our loyal guests, Joya Spa has created an annual tradition where we give back. In the second week of December, we send out an email with special spa offers (often valued up to 50 percent off) in a promotion that we call The 12 Days of Giving. Guests need to call the day the email goes out to schedule their appointment for services thru the month of January. Joya Spa is fortunate to be consistently ranked as one of the top spa’s in the country, so the perceived value is great and often given as gifts during the holiday season."—Erin Stewart, spa director at Joya Spa at Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia

"In honor of the most romantic day of the year, we offered a unique “Enhance Nature, Love and Wellness” Valentine’s Day promotion offering couples a chance to experience revitalization in the ONDA Couples Suite. This included a Costa Rica Bull’s Eye Seeds Facial followed by a romantic ONDA Herbal Aroma Bath with touches of aromatic herbal sea salts, organic soursop body scrubs and finishing body balm made with olive oil and watermelon. Within the suite, the windows surrounding the bath remain open in the middle of the dry forest welcoming monkeys to visit and fresh air to breeze through."—Patricia Fuertes Bolaños, spa manager at Onda Spa at Andaz Peninsula Papagayo Resort, Costa Rica

“The Westin brand is all about Wellness and at Spa Moulay we offer treatments that revitalize and invigorate the senses. Using Cinnamon and Pear figs “The Ultimate Holiday Pearing package” provides a booster of antioxidants, vitamins, Coenzyme Q10, and Alpha Lipoic Acid to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and improve the appearance of skin, the perfect holiday present.”—Sarah Boll, spa director at The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa

“Allow our in-house Bath Barista draw you the perfect bath in your room at Hotel Madeline Telluride. Our customized bath salts contain Juniper, Cardamom and Lemon, and a warming, therapeutic body oil, allowing  for complete relaxation and a soothing, intimate experience. This holiday season, guests can soak in the aromas while enjoying a cup of hot chocolate topped with artisan marshmallows and for an additional treat at an additional cost, guests can enjoy an in-room customized Swedish massage, inclusive of a hot oil scalp treatment to soak in the holiday spirit.”—Tricia Avery, spa director at Hotel Madeline Telluride Resort & Spa
