Wellness Warrior Launches PolicyWell.com

Wellness Policy

Nonprofit wellness advocacy group Wellness Warrior has officially launched PolicyWell.com, which is an internet tool that holds Congress accountable for how they vote on wellness policy. Founded by health and wellness pioneer Deborah Szekely, the company teamed up with crowdfunding website Barnraiser, which is a platform dedicated to health and wellness, to fund its website development and succeeded in meeting its fundraising goal of $20,000. As the first vote and donation-tracking web tool to focus on wellness issues, PolicyWell provides a bridge between wellness consumers and our Federal legislative branch. It also gives real and actionable information to voters so they could confidently go to the polls and vote with the wellness policy in mind. “PolicyWell was initiated at the request of spa and wellness industry leaders who want to see a more inclusive approach when it comes to a national agenda,” says executive director Damon Cory-Watson. “They want to be up-to-date on national wellness issues, and will soon be able to track bills closely via PolicyWell in order to share information with their customers, and even inspire them to take action via letter writing and petitions.”

PolicyWell also helps identify which legislators are working for (or against) health and wellness; tracks the progress (or lack of progress) on key bills; ranks all politicians by their commitment to wellness; helps the public stay informed about the issues that concern them the most; supports legislation that puts health first; and connects users with other like-minded Americans who prioritize health and wellness. The initiative has received support from many spa and wellness industry companies, including Canyon Ranch, Coola, Green Spa Network, Jane Iredale, Jurlique, SpaRitual, and more.
