Peak Paradise at Serenity Spa

Nestled at the base of Camelback Mountain in Big Pocono State Park, Camelback Lodge & Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark (Tannersville, PA) opened last spring as a family friendly adventure and relaxation destination. The brand-new ski-in-ski-out complex boasts 453 guest suites, an indoor waterpark, three restaurants, a 9,000-square-foot spa and fitness center, and more. Serenity Spa debuted soon after as the perfect antidote to an invigorating day on the slopes or slides and draws its inspiration from the surrounding environment. Each of the nine treatment rooms is named after a notable peak from around the world, including the Matterhorn, Mont Blanc, and Mount Everest, and features earth tones and minimalist decor. “We’re in the woods in the wilderness, so I wanted to incorporate natural elements in the menu, interior design, and services, as well,” says spa director Christina Wells. The menu includes a variety of customizable services, including massages, body wraps and scrubs, facials, and nailcare, which use natural and organic products from Éminence Organic Skin Care and FarmHouse Fresh. The nailcare area was designed with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame a picturesque view of popular ski trails, so pedicure clients can sit back and soak in the landscape. Pint-size pampering is also available at Oasis Kids Spa. This separate space features bold colors, kid-friendly decor, and treatments specially designed for young spa-goers, including the Chocolate Green Tea Facial ($40, 30 minutes) and the Enchanted Princess ($85, 60 minutes). Says Wells, “Having so many things to do outside in the summer and inside in the wintertime in addition to the spa definitely sets us apart from the other resorts in the area.”
