Meet Pat Lam, President of Skin Care Consultants.
How many years have you been involved in the spa industry?
I have been involved in the spa industry for 36 years.
What was the path that led you into the spa industry?
My husband encouraged and motivated me to join in his medical practice. He had many patients who had excellent results with his medical treatments and they kept asking if he could help them with their skin, wrinkles, etc. I was working at the university but reluctantly left to join him. I went to a small local school and even before I graduated, I had so many clients coming to my husband’s practice and found that the business was already flourishing. That was when I got hooked on esthetics.
What is your favorite place in the whole world?
My favorite place in the world is Costa Bravo in Spain. It is so calm and beautiful there and I would love to retire there someday.
If you could have any profession in the world, other than what you do now, what would you be?
If I was not in the beauty industry, I would like to have been a professional dancer. They have such grace, dexterity, poise and high energy.
What is your go-to spa treatment?
My favorite treatment in the spa is a good microdermabrasion treatment with Instant Skin Embryo Extracts, a natural and biological treatment for skin rejuvenation. My skin appears so youthful and glowing immediately.
What is your proudest accomplishment?
I am most proud of my Board Certification as an Anti-Aging Health Practitioner (A4M). It was a lot of hard work but I do enjoy the academics.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I am happy with myself physically except I would like to be a bit taller. I also wish I had started professional dental care during early childhood years.
Care to share any details on family life; i.e. spouse, partner, children, pets?
I lost my beloved husband and love of my life four years ago. I am surviving with strong determination to go on without him. I am very lucky to have my daughter join me in the business. I do really enjoy meeting people all over the world and we travel a lot to promote our specialized equipment.
