Spa Talk with Antonio Llanos

Antonio Llanos, vice president of technology for Spafinder Wellness

Meet Antonio Llanos, vice president of technology for Spafinder Wellness.

What has surprised you most about working in the spa/wellness industry?

Two things. The first is that now that I am more familiar with the spa industry, I realize that it is everywhere. No matter where I go, I see some of the great brands that Spafinder Wellness 365 is affiliated with, in hotels, shopping centers, and even walking to lunch during the workday. The other is that this is the most relaxed industry that I have worked in. I think it is one of the only industries I have worked in that practices what it preaches.

What qualities do you look for in your development team?

I think the top quality that I look for is passion. Technology is an industry that keeps changing, so those who are passionate tend to continue to keep pace with the constant change and deliver the most innovative solutions.

How do you like to spend your time away from work?

Away from work I try to spend as much time with my family. I am blessed to have all my family members within a very close proximity to where I live.

Tell us two things about yourself we don’t know.

Two things I don’t normally share. The first is that I was the mascot at our county fair for a few years. If you can imagine it, I was basically a six-foot tall blue ribbon. The other is that I also have an interest in real estate and have maintained a Florida real estate license for 15 years.

What positions have you worked in that you feel have been most influential to your career?

I am a definite believer in learning from all your experiences. I think each position I have held and company I have worked for has allowed me to gain some specific experience that allowed me to grow. Without all of them together, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
