Scrip To Sponsor Royal Treatment Workshop In The Wine Country

Sonoma City HallScrip Massage & Spa will sponsor The Royal Treatment spa therapist workshop September 25-26 in beautiful Sonoma County, California. Steve Capellini, principal of The Royal Treatment and a celebrated author and educator, will be hosting the event.

Capellini has been offering seminars to massage therapists, estheticians and spa entrepreneurs for fifteen years, and this year he decided to make the experience more immersive. "Why not have a spa seminar in the heart of the U.S. spa country?" he said. Spa country, in this case, turns out to be wine country, too, a pleasant combination for Capellini.

Capellini and his wife, who live in Miami, Florida are the owners of a Thai restaurant and regularly attend industry wine tastings. "All of our friends love wine," says Capellini, "and many of the massage therapists I know appreciate good food and wine also. Many of them are tired, frankly, of the same old workshops held in massage schools around the country. Why not offer them something a little more exotic and fun, while at the same time fulfilling their CEU requirements and getting them topnotch information about the latest spa products, protocols, equipment and products?" Thus the idea for the Sonoma workshop was born.

The event will take place at the Sonoma Valley Inn, a very nice but reasonably priced hotel just steps away from the charming square in the center of town. A winery tour has been arranged at a local vineyard, and a trip to the famed Sonoma Mission Inn is planned for participants as well. All of these extras are included in the $495 price of the class. The normal price for non-wine-country classes is $395, so participants are getting a lot of extra enjoyment for their money. The main product line featured in this year's seminar is Amber, a line that is new to many massage therapists but well known by estheticians.

"We're trying to bridge that gap a little and bring the two worlds of massage and esthetics together," states Capellini. "As long as they stay within their legal scope of practice, why shouldn't the hands-on practitioners themselves benefit by offering sought-after spa therapies of many stripes?"
