Boys of Summer

A study released at the end of last year confirmed more men are visiting spas and indulging in a wider variety of treatments. According to the International Spa Association Foundation, 47 percent of spa-goers are men these days. Gentlemen seem to be more open-minded about the idea of spa-ing and spas have definitely provided enticing treatments to keep them coming back (more on this here). With the summer months right around the corner, men are now turning to waxing and other hair removal services to prepare for time on the beach and showing more skin. Manscaping and the “manzilian” are popular choices this time of year as are hair removal on the back, shoulders, and other areas. It’s important to provide a soothing environment for these guests, who often have a lower threshold for discomfort when it comes to hair removal services and Steve Carrell’s iconic scene in 40-Year-Old Virgin is oftentimes their expectation.

Is your spa noticing an uptick in male guests and for hair removal lately?
