Get Lovely with Lemons

Last Wednesday was national lemonade day, so naturally if you had lemons on hand you knew exactly what to do. Don’t worry if life has given you more lemons today; there are so many other beauty-boosting uses for this tart citrus. Check out a couple recipes below for DIY fruity pampering from Sunkist.

 

1. Banana & Lemon Foot Massage (good for tired feet)

Ingredients:

    ½ lemon

    2 bananas

    2 tbsps of fine sea salt

    2 tsps of grapeseed oil

Directions: Slice bananas into a bowl and mash. Add the juice of the lemon and the rest of the ingredients and mix together. Massage the mixture into your feet and leave for ten minutes. Rinse off with warm water, dry thoroughly and generously apply moisturizer.

 

2. Lemon Facial Scrub (good for oily skin)

Ingredients:

    1 part lemon zest

    1 part powdered milk

    2 parts almond meal

    ½ part fresh lemon juice

Directions: Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Massage onto face and neck in circular movements. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and follow by applying your favorite moisturizer.
