A couple of years ago, I had the pleasure of visiting Mirbeau Inn & Spa (Skaneateles, NY) in the picturesque Finger Lakes region. It is a charming property that makes you feel as if you've stepped into a Monet painting. Needless to say, I was very excited to hear that Mirbeau Inn & Spa at The Pinehills (Plymouth, MA) is scheduled to open in spring 2014. The 50-room getaway, designed in the style of a French Manor House, will also include the 14,000-square-foot Spa Mirbeau. Just eight miles from Cape Cod, the retreat, like the original, will also feature Mirbeau's stunning signature Monet Pond Gardens, which are inspired by the French Impressionist painter's gardens at Giverny outside of Paris. Just this week, Linda and Gary Dower, principals of The Mirbeau Companies, and Tony Green, managing partner of Pinehills, LLC, joined in the groundbreaking ceremony and reception for the new property. I, for one, am hoping this addition to the Mirbeau family is as enchanting as the first.
