For the first time, Spa Montage Laguna Beach is opening its acclaimed continued education program to other spa industry practitioners, who may enroll in two sessions that will be held at the oceanfront resort November 9-13 and December 13-18, 2009.
WHAT:
Anne Bramham, president of the American Spa Therapy Education Certification Council (ASTECC), will teach two classes, one basic and one advanced, in Vodder School Manual Lymph Drainage. Spa practitioners who complete a course will be certified with 40 or 50 hours of continued education units respectively.
Space is limited to 14 students per course, so early registration is recommended. Registration deadline is November 2 for the basic class and December 7 for the advanced class.

A precise, light-to-the-touch therapy recognized by both the international spa and medical communities, Dr. Vodder's Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is the perfect rejuvenation therapy. Course lectures detail the anatomy and physiology of the lymph vessel system, fluid balance and the body's transportation system along with the effects and contra-indications of MLD. Practical training includes instruction in MLD techniques and protocols for specific body parts. (40 hours)
2. ADVANCED SPA BODY, December 13-18, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., $1,100 per student
Focusing on the specific use of Manual Lymphatic Drainage in leisure and medical spa settings, this course concentrates on treatment protocols for pre- and post-cosmetic surgery, dermatological indications, cellulite, fluid retention, trauma and lifestyle disorders. Prerequisite: Basic Body. (50 hours)

With more than 25 years of professional experience as consultant, teacher, therapist and designer of spa therapies, Anne Bramham is the founder of ASTECC (American Spa Therapy and Education Certification Council) and the owner of the Bramham Institute in West Palm Beach, Florida. An instructor of Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) with the Vodder School since 1995, Anne opened the first hospital-based Lymphedema treatment center in South Florida.
