Bellus Academy Celebrates National Aesthetician Month

Bellus Academy is celebrating National Aesthetician Month in October by offering a Compassionate Care facial and a pumpkin mocha treatment. The Compassionate Care beauty and wellness menu includes a facial designed for people undergoing chemotherapy and those who have medical restrictions that prevent them from receiving a traditional facial treatment. The goal of National Aesthetician Month is to raise awareness of careers that go beyond skincare, such as brow shaping and eyelash extensions, advanced spa modalities, and technologies for skin analysis and treatment. Estheticians work in settings not limited to spa treatments but also healthcare and hospitality along with working with natural ingredients and non-traditional interventions like CBD to support beauty and wellness are also generating demand for spa and wellness professionals. “During the pandemic lockdowns, many people became more serious about caring for their complexion and discovered the benefits of a carefully planned skincare regimen,” says Joanne Berry, director of spa education at Bellus Academy and a 2018 American Spa Women in Wellness awardee. “Post-pandemic, we have seen more people seeking to reduce stress and bring more mindfulness in their careers; and esthetics is a great fit.”
