Opened last fall, Spa by JW at JW Marriott Austin is adding its own tranquil tune to the live music capitol of the world. The 4,600-square-foot, nine-treatment room spa features a clean design with a subdued palate of earthy and neutral tones that celebrates nature and creates a warm, comfortable space. Designed for people lacking the luxury of time, it offers no-appointment-necessary treatments in Express Spa Suites. These on-demand services range from 12 to 25 minutes and revive guests in an exclusive state-of-the-art massage chair. Knowing not everyone is in a hurry, the spa also offers a collection of locally inspired specialty treatments, which are proving to be quite popular. Agave Nectar Massage on the Rocks ($155, 50 minutes; $220, 80 minutes) includes a detoxifying foot soak, hot stone massage with agave nectar oil, and an agave nectar craft cocktail. Bourbon Cowgirl/Cowboy Pedicure ($90, 60 minutes) begins with a whole milk soak to soften skin before a spiked bourbon brown sugar exfoliation. Feet get a polish application if desired and a moisturizing massage, and a bourbon craft cocktail tops of the treatment. Says spa director Amy Ray, “This year we plan to grow locally and introduce our spa and brand new pool deck as the best spa and urban resort experience that Texas has to offer.”
