A Vermont Getaway Proves to be the Perfect Spa Retreat

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to visit Stowe Mountain Lodge, which is surrounded by Vermont's Green Mountains. An inviting getaway, I found much to love, particularly the new farm-to-table spa cuisine menu that was recently introduced. In addition, I also got to familiarize myself with Medik8 Skincare Biotechnology, a Britain-based skincare line. The Spa at Stowe Mountain Lodge is one of only two spas in the country to carry the line known for being effective on even the most sensitive skin. Suffering from sensitive skin myself, I was excited to try the Medik8 Beta Facial, which is designed to alleviate inflammation and reduce irritation while improving the skin's moisture level, texture, and tone. I definitely wasn't disappointed by the results. Another highlight of my visit was the chance to check out the spa's Chillax program, which allows children to experience what it feels like to be in a stress-free environment. The brainchild of spa director Maggy Dunphy, the program incorporates deep breathing exercises, imagination, meditation, touch, smell, and sound in a safe and relaxing environment. Look for more info on these and other new developments at The Spa at Stowe Mountain Lodge in an upcoming issue of American Spa.
