Swedish Spa Association Explores New York Spa and Wellness Market

HRLeavy LLC, a boutique PR-Marketing Firm headed by the former Day Spa and International Medical Spa Association’s founder and president, Hannelore Leavy and Spa Designs, Monique Iacobacci are building an exciting program for the Swedish Spa Association’s fact-finding mission to New York City. From Nov. 11 to 13, 40 members of this trade group, consisting of Hotel and Spa Directors of Sweden http://www.svenskaspahotell.se/en.aspx are visiting New York City to learn more of what is new in the Spa/Wellness & Fitness. "This is so very exciting to have been chosen as the one to welcome a delegation from overseas to show them the best of the spa/fitness world that New York City has to offer," says Leavy. "The U.S. used to look to Europe for anything spa and wellness, and now Europe is coming to the U.S. to find out about fitness and wellness."

New York City is home of some of the most influential players in the wellness/spa/fitness arena and the following have agreed to host this group during their visit Nov. 11-13:

Spafinder Wellness President, Susie Ellis will give a “sneak peek” of her annual highly anticipated 2013 Global Spa Trends Forecast. Ellis invites the delegates to also bring their questions and ideas to the table. The group will be given a tour of SpaFinder’s offices, which will include a stop at their “wall of fame” where the covers of the past 25 years of SpaFinder Magazine are being displayed. GramercyOne SpaBooker will join the group and give an overview - and possibly a demonstration of this robust spa management software tool.

American Leisure will be hosting the group at their Setai Wall Street Club and Spa. The delegation will have the opportunity to tour the serene and elegant facility, and meet with the American Leisure executive/management team. Sal Pellegrino of Star Trac will do a comprehensive overview presentation on “Trends in Fitness” followed by CEO Steve Kass, COO Tom Johnston, and presdient Wendy Bosalavage who will discuss leisure, fitness, and the spa market. A question and answer session will follow, which will allow the delegation an opportunity to discuss trends, future growth, and concerns in the spa, wellness, and fitness fields.

Prettycity.com will be the last evening of the educational tour. The delegation will join Live Beautiful in New York. The first hour of the event (5:30-6:30 p.m.) is reserved for media and VIP.  PrettyCity.com and SHAPE Magazine are bringing the best in beauty to NYC.

“In addition to these industry leaders, top tier spas, fitness and wellness centers, and product companies will have the unique opportunity to connect with this exclusive group and partake in an interactive learning program,” says Iacobacci, who is coordinating the spa and fitness itinerary for the group. “Their focus is to gain a better understanding of the U.S. fitness, wellness, and spa industry. This is an excellent opportunity for companies looking to reach the business ‘decision makers,’ while affording them a wide array of marketing and PR opportunities.”
