Relaxation-seekers staying at Anguilla’s luxe new Zemi Beach House Resort & Spa are transported from the Caribbean to Thailand and back again at the Zemi Thai House Spa. Set within an authentic Thai house that was imported from Thailand in the 1980s, the 15,000-square-foot indoor and outdoor retreat combines Asian inspiration with Anguillan influences. Spa facilities include oversized spa suites, a wellness boutique, outdoor rest areas with wave loungers and spaces for yoga and Pilates, and a meditation garden where guests can enjoy classes on mindfulness and relaxation. A fresh juice bar features teas and cold-pressed juices made from fruits, herbs, and plants from the spa garden. The spa is also home to the island’s first coed House of Wellbeing, featuring a hammam, the Bohique Mud Deck for mud and salt body treatments, outdoor showers, and a vitality pool. Also central to the wellness offerings is the Taino Bathing Ritual ($85 or complimentary with purchase of another service), a self-guided experience in which guests journey through different temperature changes incorporating ancient plants and herbs used by Anguilla’s native Taino Indians. It’s an indigenous experience with an Asian flair.
