Discover Geisha Beauty in New York City

Coco Rocha shared beauty tips at Project Runway Celebrity Cruises partyLast night I had the pleasure of attending a lovely rooftop garden party, complete with the cutest mini hamburgers, golden-hour skyline views, and a radiant supermodel host (Coco Rocha). All this was in celebration of the convergence of travel, beauty, and fashion thanks to Celebrity Cruises teaming up with Project Runway this season.

Coco Rocha’s favorite skincare:

I had a few minutes to chat with the luminous Rocha about her beauty tips and favorite skincare. What first came to mind for her was Tatcha, largely because the story of the line is as beautiful as the skin it helps create.  The line is based on the beauty secrets founder Victoria Tsai discovered on a trip to Kyoto and learning the less-is-more skincare philosophy from a modern-day geisha. The Geisha’s skincare philosophy and time-tested ingredients captured in the “Capital Beauty and Style Handbook” informs and inspires the collection, enabling Geisha beauty around the world.

Geisha-worthy spa treatment:

Spa-goers needn’t travel across oceans for Geisha beauty thanks to the Japanese Pearlessence Facial (starting at $185, 60 minutes) at The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Half Moon Bay (CA). “The Japanese Pearlessence Facial brings back the meaning and ritual of not only taking care of your skin but also taking care of yourself on a deeper level,” says spa director Alison Abbott. “Tatcha’s skincare philosophy of enjoying the experience, combined with a results-oriented skincare line, provides guests with an education of what it means to take care of the skin and how important it is to honor and be intentional with the process. With crushed pearls and other elements from the sea, this new treatment aligns perfectly with our coastal location.”
