Covering the spa beat for more than a decade now, I've experienced my share of Champagne facials and caviar creams. It wasn't until recently, however, that I experienced a treatment that topped the $1,000 mark. This January, La Prairie at The Ritz-Carlton Spa (New York City) will debut its White Caviar Illuminating Facial ($1,000, 90 minutes). I got a sneak peak of it last night. Needless to say, for that price, I expected to look like a million bucks. The indulgent treatment incorporates three products from the White Caviar Illuminating System, which was introduced this past February. While the price may seem to inspire unrealistically high expectations, I must say I was quite happy with the results. And to help with the sticker shock, the facial comes with a full-size White Caviar Illuminating System, which includes White Caviar Illuminating Serum, White Caviar Illuminating Eye Serum, and White Caviar Illuminating Cream.
