Mandarin Oriental, Washington D.C. Celebrates Spring with New Cherry-Themed Package and Treatment Special

This past weekend, I couldn't help but notice the cherry blossoms in my Brooklyn neighborhood. Although it's a bit earlier than usual, I look forward to watching them bloom each spring. Today marks the advent of the spring season and with it comes a new Cherry Blossom Centennial package (starting at $395) from the Mandarin Oriental, Washington D.C. The package is in celebration of the of the 3,000 cherry trees the city of Tokyo gave to the people in our nation's capital 100 years ago. Available through April 27, 2012, the special includes overnight accommodation in a Deluxe room, buffet breakfast for two, overnight valet parking, cherry-inspired treats from the executive chef, and a 20 percent discount off the Cherry Blossom Ritual at The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Washington D.C. The spa is also commemorating the Centennial with a special Hanakasumi Cherry Blossom Treatment ($250 weekday/$275 weekend, 80 minutes), which involves an application of warm exfoliating cream with Cherry Blossom rice powder, a second exfoliating massage, a foot massage based on reflexology, and a full-body massage with melted aromatic shea butter. Guests will also walk away with a complimentary cherry-inspired spa amenity worth $50. The treatment is available through April 30, 2012. What is your spa doing to welcome in the new season?
