A good manicure is a little luxury that can go a long way toward making clients feel fabulous. Whether they’re seeking clean, buffed tips, wild nail art, or something in between, a manicure can boost anyone’s confidence.
Last month, Essie celebrated Serge Normant’s new salon, Serge Normant at John Frieda Salon (New York City). Essie also collaborated with celeb stylist Serge Normant to create an exclusive limited-edition marsala shade that’s only available in the salon. According to house manicurist Naomi Gonzalez-Longstaff, the shade, Serge on 23rd, can enhance nail shape while complementing all skintones. Below, she offers a few tips for using Essie’s shades to create nail masterpieces for clients.
- Apply two thin coats of "Serge on 23rd" on nails for rich full coverage, and ensure you leave a thin margin around the cuticle area to frame the nails. Finish with Essie "Good to go" topcoat.
- To create some depth and dimension, use Essie "Matte About You" topcoat. Apply with in designs that will contrast with the shine of the color.
- Top the marsala shade with an application of glitter or shimmer, especially rose gold, for a beautiful effect. A tip and trick: apply the glitter with a thin liner brush from free-edge to cuticle. This is a unique and special look for any occasion.
