NIYAMA, Maldives Introduces a New Aromatherapy Program

I've never been one to wear a fragrance until a couple of years ago when I happened to visit the island of St. Barths. It was there I toured the manufacturing facility of Ligne St. Barth and became familiar with the company's Vanille West Indies fragrance, which I quickly adopted as my own signature scent. I wasn't alone in my rapture for the vanilla and caramel-scented perfume, as even my co-workers confessed a love for my newfound favorite fragrance. Fortunately, I discovered it first. Anyway, my obsession made me want to delve into the art of aromatherapy, which is possible thanks to a new program at NIYAMA, A Per AQUUM Resort (Maldives). From May 19-25, the resort is hosting Alli Sim of aromatherapy atelier Mmerci Encore, as she takes up residency at LIME Spa and shares with guests her artisanal preparations inspired by bathing and bedtime rituals. Sim is the former beauty editor of Harper's Bazaar, Singapore and spent her childhood in the Australian outdoors cultivating her passion for nature and beauty. Sourcing ingredients during her travels and using only all-natural ingredients when possible, Sim will be helping guests to create their own personalized spa ritual experiences. Says Jason Sloan, group director of spas, "We will aroma every aspect of their spa journey."
