OPI Introduces Six Ballet-Inspired Shades

It’s not always easy to be creative on demand. In fact, it’s rarely, if ever, easy. That’s why I’m always impressed by the ingenuity expressed by nailcare companies in naming their new polishes. Looking for inspiration in that department, OPI partnered with the New York City Ballet to create six new additions to its SoftShades collection. New York City Ballet by OPI features the whimsically named lacquers: Barre My Soul, a sheer beige; You Callin' Me a Lyre?, a pink; Don't Touch My Tutu!, a wispy white; Care to Danse?, a lilac; My Pointe Exactly, a gorgeous grey, and Pirouette My Whistle, a sparkly silver. "The choreography and costumes provided a wealth of inspiration for a range of soft, feminine hues," says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI executive VP and artistic director. "The beige, pink, and white lacquers bring to mind classic ballet slippers, tutus and leotards, while the sheer lilac and grey add muted color to ballet's traditional pink."
