Spring Into New Spa Treatments

With the change in seasons will often come a change in treatment menus. It's time to put away the warm nutmeg and peppermint and break out the lavender, citrus, and other sweet smelling goodies. The new additions not only entice new and return clientele to book appointments, they keep spa staff interested and motivated to learn and practice more. Here, take a look at how some spas are using the new season to incorporate new spring-inspired treatments onto their menus.

L’Apothecary Spa at L’Auberge de Sedona is offering a Signature Pink Himalayan Sea Salt Scrub ($150, 60 minutes). Guests can choose one of three essential oils from Tara Spa Therapy inspired by spring to incorporate into the treatment. Choices include detoxifying, loving, and stress relieving essential oils. Pink Himalayan salt in the treatment aids in circulation, toxin removal, and skin restoration.

The Honey Magnolia Pedicure ($70, 50 minutes) from The Spa at Ponte Vedra Inn & Club (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL) starts with a grapeseed and orange peel-infused oil to moisturize skin with vitamins and antioxidants. A shea butter micro scrub follows the oils to exfoliate legs, and a sweetened body milk massage with cream, magnolia flowers, and honey lightly scent skin.

At Aquaterra Spa at Surf & Sand Resort (Laguna Beach, CA), a soothing blackberry sugar massage begins the Blackberry and Orchid Aroma Blend ($190, 80 minutes). An orchid and vanilla essential oil massage and wrap follow the massage, offering help with spring congestion and hydrating skin with antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids. Orchid notes also help boost mental alertness.

The Garden Spa at MacArthur Place is offering three signature treatments ($245, 1 hour 40 minutes), utilizing organic, local ingredients in treatments. The Golden Goddess includes a golden passion flower body polish, a wrap, and passion flower essential oil massage. Rose Garden begins with a rose petal bath, followed by a rose petal body polish, and finishes with a rose essential oil massage. The Citrus Tree treatment includes a sweet orange and pink grapefruit bath, mandarin orange and pink grapefruit body scrub, and a sweet orange massage.

The Citrus Berry Boost Made Fresh Daily ($195, 80 minutes) at The Spa at Rancho Bernardo Inn (San Diego) uses fresh, local herbs and produce in the treatment. It starts with a juniper berry massage, followed by a vanilla and grapefruit scrub, and is served with a grapefruit refresher beverage. The treatment can be enjoyed inside or outside in the spa garden and patio area.

At The Beach House Spa at Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club (Cape Cod, MA), guests can enjoy The Beach House Rose Facial ($150, 50 minutes). Centered around the rose, the facial works to replenish skin and make it vibrant. Skin is detoxified using organic roses, and Vitamin C helps improve elasticity.

The 24k Gold Facial ($200, 50 minutes) rejuvenates skin for spring at The Spa at Harrah’s Resort Southern California (Funner, CA). Using a collagen-based mask as a second skin, the treatment helps heal skin with small particles of colloidal gold when it locks in moisture. The mask lifts, hydrates, and firms skin as it reduces redness and inflammation.

The Spa at Carillion Miami Wellness Resort is offering several specials on treatments for spring, including the Lavender Sea Salt Scrub ($99, 25 minutes). The scrub uses Dead Sea salt to moisturize skin with oils. As the skin is nourished, the smell of lavender helps ease anxiety, diminish stress, and aid sleep.
