A Topnotch Medical Facility

In addition to enjoying relaxing and rejuvenating treatments in a tranquil mountain environment, guests at Topnotch Resort and Spa (Stowe, VT) can now reap the benefits of cosmetic dermatology treatments at the spa's new cosmetic treatment facility, part of a recent renovation and expansion. Supervised by a board-certified dermatologist, the spa offers treatments to help clients not only feel younger, but look younger, too, such as Botox and Restylane injections, LED photomodulation, sclerotherapy, and more.

"The current trend is for dermatologists to start their own spas," says Mitchell Schwartz, M.D. "But I am delighted by the opportunity to be associated with Topnotch, which has a secret weapon with its Green Mountain setting—the best natural smoother I know for reducing stress lines and enhancing smile lines."

UPLIFTING ALTERNATIVE TO A FACELIFT

For clients interested in turning back the hands of time without undergoing major surgery or breaking
the bank, a thread lift may be the answer. The minimally invasive procedure, which usually takes about an hour, is performed by a doctor who "threads" barbed, permanent sutures into the skin, anchoring them to specific tissues in the face. Once the sutures are in place, the facial tissues are elevated and compressed, and the body's own collagen forms around the threads to maintain the lifting effect. Results can last as long as five years. According to Donald Kress, M.D., a Frederick, MD–based plastic surgeon who performs thread lifts, this procedure is best suited for younger and middle-aged clients who are at the beginning stages of the aging process.
