This year, New York Fashion Week was more chilled out than ever. And no I’m not just talking about the sub-zero wind chill. The relaxed feeling popped up in multiple shows backstage where there was plenty of heat. Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spas (multiple locations) introduced the Zen Zone backstage at Vivienne Tam. Tucked away next to the hair stations, any backstage guest could get a complimentary manicure and a quick chair massage. Manicube technicians offered Essie polishes and two exclusive nail art looks based upon the collection soon to walk the runway. After learning about the hair and nails from Wade Lee, Red Door Spa stylist and educator, and Iwona Opiola, Red Door Spa creative lead for nails; I even had time to sit down and experience both relaxing treatments. Though it’s not a full-blown spa experience, this is one trend I hope to see returning for many seasons to come.
