Viceroy Hotel Group Expands to the Maldives

A few years ago, a friend of mine got laid off his job in finance due to the economy. Instead of stressing out and trying to find a new job as the unemployment rate continued to drastically increase, he decided it was the perfect opportunity to take some time off and do something he enjoyed. So, he packed up his scuba gear and took a six-month gig as a dive instructor in the Maldives. And, although he is now back in the rat race of Wall Street, he has no regrets, as he says the island was the most beautiful place he had ever seen. I, however, regret not visiting him while he was there.  And when I just got word that the Viceroy Maldives officially opened earlier this week, I'm thinking it is one more reason I need a vacation. Set on Vagaru Island, Viceroy Maldives features 61 villas all with private plunge pools. Spa-goers will be particularly happy, as the resort features seven over-water spa villas for the ultimate spa experience. Natural elements such as the sun, sea, and Maldivian culture are represented in the spa's holistic services so guests can achieve the ultimate sense of well-being. Although I can't quit my job and move there for six months like my friend did, I am thinking a one-week vacation at the Viceroy Maldives will be good enough to hold me over for a while.
