Wellness Media Launches Leadership Program SPA LEAD

Singapore, SpaAsia and the Institute of Healing Hands are launching SPA LEAD, a groundbreaking Spa and Wellness Leadership Development Programme. In an industry that is seeing annual growth rates of 16% globally, SPA LEAD will address the growing need to develop highly skilled and competent leaders by providing spa and wellness specific education and training in interpersonal skills, business management and leadership skills.

Bangkok based Urban Healing Company Ltd., a specialist provider of educational wellness solutions to the Spa and Wellness Industry, has been commissioned with the development and delivery of the programme.

Newcomers to the industry, existing spa and wellness managers, as well as owners of spa businesses will learn how to build and enhance relevant competencies, knowledge and practical skills, to excel in this increasingly competitive industry. With contributions from international educators and leaders, latest trends and statistics, spa business simulations, case studies and exchange of best practice, the focus is on maximum interaction and application of skills back in the workplace.

Over 160 hours of training will be delivered during four one-week workshops scheduled across South East Asia over a period of ten months. The locations and dates for the first programme are:

Manila, 28 September 2007 - Personal Leadership
Bangkok, 10 December 2007 -Team Leadership
Kuala Lumpur, 10 March 2008 - Business Leadership
Singapore, 23 June 2008 - Wellness Leadership

Carefully selected participants will have the opportunity to attend individual workshops or the full programme depending on their current personal development or business needs. Learning will be enhanced through pre and post course projects, online coaching and follow up using a web-portal giving participants the opportunity to continually share their experience and progress.

'To deliver an outstanding experience while realizing a profit requires competencies and skills that the industry is determined to develop says Michael Loh, founder of the Spa Asia Magazine and chairman of the Healing Hands Institute. And we are committed to provide high quality, up-to date and relevant education for individuals in the spa and wellness community.
