The Whiteface Lodge Salutes Military Personnel

Like most Americans, I am a huge supporter of our military personnel and grateful for all they do for our country. And, because my best friend since fifth grade served in the Navy (including a stint in the Persian Gulf aboard the USS Boxer) for years, I have an even deeper appreciation and a better understanding of how tough military life can be. That's why I was especially excited when I heard the The Whiteface Lodge in Lake Placid, NY, offers active military and reserve personnel who visit the property a savings program that includes a reduced rate of $153.65 per night for a one-bedroom suite (which usually costs between $395 to $510), a 50 percent reduction on all food and beverages, and a 50 percent discount on spa treatments. "The package was created to show our appreciation for the dedication, service, and sacrifice of this country's active military and reserve personnel," says Jodi Savarie, who son just returned from Afghanistan. "We are extremely pleased that the program is receiving such a large number of responses, especially from individuals seeking a special place to connect with family and friends during mid-tour leave, as well as before or after deployment."
