The winners of the inaugural World Spa Awards 2012 were announced on March 4 at London’s Park Lane Hilton. A panel of seven expert judges, based in each geographical area, selected the finalists and winners after a vigorous judging process. The winners for 2012 are:
- Destination Spa of the Year: Middle East & Africa -- Six Senses Spa at Six Senses Zighy Bay (Sultanate of Oman)
- Hotel Spa of the Year: Middle East -- Assawan Spa and Health Club (Dubai, UAE)
- Hotel Spa of the Year: Africa -- One&Only Spa Cape Town (South Africa)
- Destination Spa of the Year: Asia & Australasia -- Kamalaya Wellness Sanctuary and Holistic Spa Resort (Koh Samui, Thailand)
- Hotel Spa of the Year: Asia & Australasia -- The Oriental Spa at The Landmark Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong
- Destination Spa of the Year: North & South America -- Lapinha Spa (Lapa, Brazil)
- Hotel Spa of the Year: North & South America -- Spa Montage Laguna Beachat Montage Laguna Beach (CA)
- Destination Spa of the Year: Europe (excluding UK & Ireland) -- Lanserhof Luxury Health Center (Lans, Austria)
- Hotel Spa of the Year: Europe (excluding UK & Ireland) -- The Dolder Grand Spa (Zurich, Switzerland)
