World Wellness Tourism Congress to Be Held in October

The Global Spa & Wellness Summit announced that the inaugural Global Wellness Tourism Congress will take place on October 5 at the Oberoi Gurgaon, in New Delhi, India. The Congress will bring together ministers of tourism and other industry leaders to discuss and promote the fast-growing sector of wellness tourism. On the agenda will be a presentation of case studies illustrating successful wellness tourism campaigns as well as the findings of a new SRI International research report. “Within the estimated $2 trillion global tourism economy, wellness tourism is a Market that has explosive growth potential, given the demographic, economic and lifestyle trends in both high income and rapidly developing countries,”said Ophelia Yeung, Co-Director, Center for Science, Technology and Economic Development, SRI International. “By defining and quantifying the size and impact of global wellness tourism–and identifying best promotional practices–this Congress and new research will educate, and reverberate with, governments and wellness businesses around the world.”
