WYNDHAM UNVEILS NEXT GENERATION OF SPA SASURA BY GOLDEN DOOR

Exclusive New Spa Brand Inspired by the Renown Golden Door in Escondido, Calif. to Launch This Summer

Five decades after the birth of the nation's premier destination spa, the Wyndham-owned Golden Door® in Escondido, Calif., Wyndham International is launching a new exclusive spa concept inspired by its original. Sasura — A Spa Experience by Golden Door will expand Golden Door's life-enhancing philosophy through boutique spa settings at a selection of Wyndham's upscale properties. The Wyndham Buttes Resort in Tempe, Ariz., will unveil the first Sasura spa in July 2005, with plans for new Sasura spas to be introduced in select properties over the next ten years.

"This compelling new spa concept speaks to the needs of a growing generation of spa connoisseurs who are seeking accessible and differentiated spa experiences in an upscale setting," said Fred J. Kleisner, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Wyndham International. "The launch of Sasura broadens the reach of our premiere Golden Door brand beyond our luxury properties, while retaining the exclusivity that guests have come to associate with the original Golden Door."

Named for the Japanese term for "massage stroke," Sasura is for travelers seeking short getaways or single treatments slipped into busy schedules. Intimate in size, every Sasura will feature select Golden Door treatments such as the Avocado Citrus Scrub and Golden Harvest Facial; signature Sasura treatments including the Sasura Ritual — a body treatment designed specifically for all Sasura spas; fitness and beauty components; and the exclusive Golden Door Skin Care Collection. Like Golden Door, Sasura will also offer services indigenous to its host location.

Sasura's roots can be found in the original Golden Door concept. When Deborah Szekely created the Golden Door in 1958, she set the standard for luxury fitness spas worldwide. Dedicated to fostering balance of mind, body and spirit, Szekely was inspired by the ancient Honjin inns of Japan. The inns were sanctuaries where weary travelers could relax and recharge after arduous journeys. Great attention was paid to personal service and therapeutic treatments such as massage and soothing baths.

Today, the Golden Door continues in the tradition of these inns to discern guests' needs and restore their spirit and energy through a complete personal well-being program. Wyndham's mission is to echo these objectives throughout the three tiers of its Golden Door brand: the original destination spa in Escondido; the satellite Golden Door resort spas at The Boulders Resort & Golden Door Spa — A Wyndham Luxury Resort in Carefree, Ariz., the Wyndham Peaks Resort & Golden Door Spa in Telluride, Colo., the Wyndham El Conquistador Resort & Golden Door Spa in Las Croabas, P.R., and the future Wyndham Resort & Golden Door Spa in Weston, Fla; and the newly branded Sasura concept. In addition, all of the Golden Door spa tiers offer the exclusive Golden Door Skin Care product line - a collection of natural, fresh products available only at Golden Door spas or via www.goldendoorskincare.com.

The inaugural Sasura spa at the Wyndham Buttes Resort will offer treatment rooms, a fitness center and beauty salon. Spa programs, services and treatments will be available a la carte for all hotel guests; and day spa packages will be available to both local residents and guests.
