HiLo Seed Co. Selects First Round Winners in Hempseed Giveaway

During this difficult time for American farms, HiLo Seed Co. is giving farmers a chance at producing a potentially high-value crop through its national Million Hemp Seed Giveaway. The hempseed company plans to award one million hempseeds to at least 40 U.S. farmers by the end of 2020, and the first round of winners were selected on March 31. Each winner will receive 15,000 HiLo Autopilot 1.0 hempseeds. “Seed cost is one of the biggest line items on a hemp farmer’s budget,” says Kevin Nowell, head of farmer relations at HiLo. “We’ve seen a lot of farmers end up with seed that’s potentially unstable and poor-performing across the board, which causes huge losses for the farmer.”

In order to ensure the farmers’ success and help them avoid pitfalls, HiLo will also provide winners with education and guidance from HiLo’s experts, who have more than 150 years of combined agriculture experience. The farmers will receive one-on-one guidance, crop consulting, troubleshooting and HiLo’s several educational offerings, such as the Know Before You Group workshop series and the Autoflower 101 webinar series. Also included is crop consulting from Agrarian Supply, which will provide the farmers with research-based analysis and cultivation support. Additionally, winners of the giveaway will share their results with HiLo, which will report the resulting insights through a weekly webinar called the ‘Lo Down. Drawings for the remaining seeds will take place on June 30, Sept. 30, and Dec. 31. To enter the Million Hemp Seed Giveaway or to see the list of winners, click here.
