Editorial Board Changes at the International Journal of Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork

The Massage Therapy Foundation (MTF) announced multiple editorial board changes at the International Journal of Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (IJTMB), the massage industry’s open-access scientific journal sponsored by the MTF. In early 2012, Glenn M. Hymel, EdD, LMT, stepped down from his post as the IJTMB’s Executive Editor after many years of dedicated service. Dr. Hymel is now serving as the journal’s senior consulting editor and Emeritus founding executive editor. Since the departure of Hymel, the IJTMB has welcomed Antony Porcino, Ph.D, as the newly appointed executive editor. “Dr. Glenn Hymel's vision and leadership brought the IJTMB to a high level of acceptance in the scientific community in a remarkably short time," says Ruth Werner, president of the Massage Therapy Foundation. "While we are excited to welcome Dr. Porcino as the new Executive Editor, we are grateful that Dr. Hymel will continue to serve in an advisory capacity.”

In addition, Albert Moraska, Ph.D, recently joined the IJTMB as the research section editor. Moraska is a past member of the Massage Therapy Foundation’s Board of Trustees. He is currently an assistant professor at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and has been actively teaching and conducting research on massage therapy since 1994.
