Blink Fitness, New York, experienced record sales performance numbers in March, the company announced on April 4.
March was the highest sales month in the history of the 11-year-old business, and February surpassed any previous February in the company’s history, according to Blink, which has more than 100 locations open or in development in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, California, Illinois, Florida, Virginia, Massachusetts and Texas.
In March, comparable store sales increased by 7 percent compared to March 2019, the company shared with Club Industry.
Blink’s total average comparable check-ins increased 14 percent in March 2022 compared to March 2019. The in-gym traffic data indicated that as members return to the gym and new members join, they are more engaged and committed to returning to a fitness routine than in the past, according to the company.
“Our in-gym sales conversion rates and average check-in rates are the highest we’ve ever seen, showing everyone’s commitment to getting back to the gym and dedicating time to personal wellness,” said Blink Fitness CEO Todd Magazine. “And we believe this momentum will continue, positively, with our limited-time, low-price, no-commitment offer.”
In March, Blink launched an offer of a $10 per month membership with just $1 to join with no commitment (excluding Manhattan locations). The offer is good through April 14. This is the lowest membership price Blink Fitness has ever offered, the company said.
The company credited the growth to the end of COVID-19 mask and vaccine mandates that have made people want to get back to a sense of normal. Part of this normal is returning to the gym.
Members are choosing Blink because of its commitment to offering the best value for the money, which includes best-in-class equipment all within a clean and vibrant space, the company said. People are also responding to Blink's mission to be the most inclusive, friendly and mood-lifting gym in the business, which creates a comfortable environment for anyone to work out in and is especially important for new gym-goers, according to the company.
All Blink locations offer perks with memberships, including a free 30-minute personal training start-up session led by a certified personal fitness trainer.
