International spa chain Mandara enters India

World's leading Thai spa treatment chain Mandara has entered India to set up asia's largest spa treatment centre in Alibaug, Maharashtra. A brand of MSpa International from Thaliland, Mandara is located at the Radisson Resort and Spa Alibaug, set up by Pune-based Sahil group.

The 20,000 sqft spa facility at this resort is the largest ever in Asia, claimed Sahil group CMD Vinay Phadnis. The development is considered to be crucial in the fast growing spa treatment segment as MSpa International is supposed to be the top-most brand in this sector.

Speaking to Business Standard, Phadnis said, 'Sahil group is involved in hospitality and real estate sectors. We also have our own spa treatment centres. The Radisson resort has seven-star hotel facilities and hence, we decided to introduce MSpa International. The spa centre has been operational at Radisson since June this year.'

MSpa International operates two spa brands namely Mandara and Anantara acros Asia, Europe and gulf countries. It has presence in almost every business centre and tourism destination in this region. 'The spa treatent facility has been well received by visitors of Radisson Resort at Alibaug. We are targetting residents, corporates and business community from Pune and Mumbai for this spa centre. Being the first in India, a lot of enquires are coming even from New Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore,' Phadnis added.

The spa centre provides treatments like detoxification, system cleansing, lifestyle management, stress relief and others. Apart from the spa treatment centre, the resort also has 16 spa villas, where occupants would be delivered in-house spa treatment. 'We have invested Rs 125 crore to set up this resort and spa centre over 18 ares of land. Major industrial projects coming up in Raigad district would ensure an excellent response for Mandara spa,' he added. Mandara spa also plans to have similar centres across India, out of which, one might come up in Pune.
