The International SPA Association (ISPA) Foundation along with The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (EI) released a new textbook titled Spa: A Comprehensive Introduction. This book discusses such topics as the history and cultural development of spas, daily spa operating procedures, and the roles and responsibilities of spa therapists, managers, and spa directors. A DVD component is also available to correspond with each chapter. The video features interviews with leading spa industry professionals and showcases several top spas. 'As the spa industry continues to grow, it is important to provide the necessary educational tools to the next generation of professionals,' says Edwin H. Neill III, ISPA Foundation president. 'Today's industry leaders share their wisdom and experiences throughout this valuable resource, giving students a first hand account of what a spa looks like, how it is operated, and how treatments are performed.'
