Joan Lunden to Keynote Red Mountain Educational Event

SpaFinder today announced that former 'Good Morning America' anchor, Joan Lunden, would headline its ninth-annual Spa Professional Educational Event, being held this fall at the award-winning Red Mountain Spa in St. George, Utah. Under the 2009 theme, 'Harnessing the Power of Change,' spa owners, directors and managers will gather from October 18-21, 2009 to reassess their business plans and tackle hot-button industry issues to ensure a profitable future — well beyond the recession.

Revolving around high-level speakers, seminars, and one-on-one workshops, the SpaFinder educational event is unique among industry conferences for providing a think-tank-like environment for spas and industry experts to share best practices on the most pressing issues confronting spa businesses today. Attendees will learn how to develop stronger, cutting-edge marketing initiatives; ideas for profitable compensation structures and yield management; the ins-and-outs of undertaking successful social media campaigns; how to make their spa more eco-friendly, and more.

Milana Knowles, Vice President, Day Spa Sales And Marketing at SpaFinder, and the conference organizer, notes, " Our goal for 2009 is specifically to help spa professionals break out of recession 'survival mode'. We want to provide them with a truly immersive educational experience that will give them all the ammunition they need to re-imagine their businesses and retool their marketing and operations for a profitable future."

Joan Lunden (healthy living advocate, journalist, co-host of 'Good Morning America' for nearly two decades, and owner of Camp Reveille, a wellness retreat for women), will deliver the 2009 keynote address. As the author of several books on positively managing change, Lunden will serve as a uniquely relevant presenter for this 'Harnessing the Power of Change' event.

Participants will enjoy a special rate at the Red Mountain Resort & Spa that includes deluxe accommodations, gourmet meals, treatments, Spafinder-sponsored receptions and banquets, cooking and fitness classes, and full use of all resort amenities.
