The Media Make Up Academy will open in South Beach Miami on July 29. The first school in the area dedicated solely to make up artistry, the Academy also has locations in New York and Chicago. Courses will be run by celebrity make up artist and founder Amanda Shackleton, who spent ten seasons in Miami before launching the school, and professional working make up artists. Students will learn the business side of the industry as well as the art of make up itself. “Miami has always been a mecca for the fashion industry but it is evolving into a world class art scene with the addition of new neighborhoods such as Midtown and The Performing Arts District,” says Shackleton. “Events such as Art Basel bring huge amounts of creative people to this area of Florida, so it's the perfect atmosphere for my new school to open.”
