5 Trending Treatments This Summer

Double board-certified facial plastic surgeon, Anil Shah, M.D., shares why these five treatments are popular this season.

1. GLP-1 Tweakments
GLP-1 medications have reshaped the weight loss conversation—and, in some patients, facial aesthetics, as well. As results become more visible, many patients notice facial volume loss or skin laxity. The focus has shifted to early, physician-guided intervention that restores balance, refines contour, and preserves a natural, healthy appearance. “Weight loss is a success story,” says Dr. Shah. “The next step is restoring volume and balance so patients look as healthy and energized as they feel.”

2. Blepharoplasty
According to the annual American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) member survey, 66 percent of facial plastic surgeons report a growing demand for eyelid procedures. “Refreshing the eyelids helps patients look naturally awake and energized without changing who they are,” says Dr. Shah.

3. Neck Lifts
Summer has a way of making the neck harder to ignore. Modern neck lift techniques now emphasize refinement and recovery, using advanced tissue glues, ultrasonic technology, and supportive therapies like Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) to improve healing time and comfort.

4. Hair Restoration
From surgical restoration to regenerative therapies, more patients are addressing thinning earlier rather than later. In fact, AAFPRS surgeons reported performing roughly twice as many hair restoration treatments in 2025 compared to the previous year. Shah notes that summer can also be an ideal time to begin treatment planning for longer-term results.

5. Peptides
Peptides are becoming a growing part of the longevity and skin health conversation, with increasing emphasis on physician guidance, sourcing, and protocol safety. When properly selected and monitored, peptides may support healthier, more resilient-looking skin as part of a broader wellness approach. “The conversation has shifted beyond appearance,” says Shah. “Patients want to stay active, maintain their vitality, and continue doing the things they enjoy for as long as possible. Peptides are part of that bigger picture.”
