Phorest Salon Software Reveals Results of Anti-Wrinkle Injection Study

A study by Phorest Salon Software found that half of Americans, 50 percent, said they would be open to trying or have tried anti-wrinkle injections like Botox. Of those respondents, 15 percent said they have had or are currently undergoing injectable anti-wrinkle treatments, while 36 percent of participants fall somewhere in the middle, saying they would be open to the treatment. Nearly one-fifth (19 percent) said they would like to try the treatment, while 17 percent said they were unsure but would be curious to try it. On the other hand, 50 percent of Americans said, they have never and would never try anti-wrinkle injections. Of those who said they hadn't tried anti-wrinkle injections, 12 percent said it was because they didn’t know where to go to find them, 45 percent considered them too expensive, 23 percent didn’t know enough about them, while 43 percent said they were just not interested. As for fillers (such as lip, cheek, jaw or chin fillers), Americans were even less inclined to try these. Fifty-nine percent said they had never and would never try fillers, while only 13 percent have had them. Eleven percent were open to trying fillers while 17 percent were curious about them. “Out of all regions studied, the U.S. had the largest group of participants saying they would never try anti-wrinkle injections," says Verna Wall, lead researcher at Phorest. "Of these participants, 45 percent noted that anti-wrinkle injections were too expensive, which gives us an indication of how the public value this treatment. For med spas that wish to attract more of these clients, showing them the value of your treatments through education, a loyalty system or transparent pricing could be the push they need to try out the service. It’s clear the interest is there but just needs to be nurtured.”

In the UK, only 33 percent say they have never and would never try treatments like Botox. Thirty-four percent commented that they had no interest in the treatment, and 18 percent of survey respondents in the UK are currently undergoing, or have tried, the treatment.
