Joie de Vivre Medical Spa (Canton, OH) is helping human trafficking victims by offering complimentary and discrete laser tattoo removal sessions for those involuntarily tattooed by their traffickers. “Of all of the suffering they endured, this was one of things that bothered them the most,” says Theresa Phillips, co-owner of Joie de Vivre Medical Spa. “We made special accommodations to ensure that these [people] felt comfortable and safe at our spa."
January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month, and Joie de Vivre is asking for donations to support Operation Underground Railroad. Operation Underground Railroad is a non-profit dedicated to rescuing children from sex trafficking and sexual exploitation. The medical spa will match every donation from January 26, 2023 to February 12, 2023. Donations will be accepted via the Joie De Vivre Business Venmo account at @jdvmedspa.
