There are several trending laser treatments that treat the vagina. In fact, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery noted that in 2016 there was a 23 percent increase in labiaplasty procedures, which reduces the length of the labia minora. Take a look at the trending treatments experts are discussing.
VSpot (New York City) is a vaginal-tightening medical spa that offers a range of vaginal treatments that address looseness, dryness, incontinence, and a lack of sexual desire. VSpot FemiLift treatment uses the Alma laser to treat a range of issues. “The FemiLift is an FDA-approved laser that uses groundbreaking technology to offer a solution for the vaginal loosening, dryness, and incontinence that comes along with childbirth, menopause, and just being a woman,” says Cindy Barshop, founder and CEO of VSpot. Barshop explains that it is a quick and easy treatment that is healthy for the client. “It basically does a tissue regeneration in the vaginal canal, restoring healthy tissue,” she says. Thinking of adding this treatment to your procedure menu? Before offering this laser treatment in spas, Barshop suggests that spas tread lightly and examine clients before performing any work. Another option is the Diva procedure, which uses an Erbium YAG laser to tighten the vaginal cuff. “The system is designed to deliver the laser without movement by the practitioner,” says Ocean Drive Plastic Surgery’s CEO Alan Durkin, M.D. “The probe is inserted into the vagina with a rigid covering, and the laser is delivered via a proprietary platform called a ‘high precision automation.’ This delivers a uniform level of treatment to the vaginal mucosa,” he says. In comparison, clients can also seek out ThermiVA. This procedure uses the ThermiVA laser, which applies radiofrequency energy to rejuvenate collagen. “ThermiVA can improve vaginal dryness, vaginal laxity, intercourse, and sexual satisfaction,” says Norman Rowe, M.D., owner of Rowe Plastic Surgery (New York City). Clients will need three treatments for this procedure, and they will see results two to four months after the sessions, says Rowe.
